Western Australian Government Schools support international students to be successful, with a range of study pathways and an internationally recognised curriculum.

International students from 5 to 17 years of age come to Western Australia from around the world to study at our government schools. We provide world-class education to international students from Pre-Primary to Year 12 (Primary and Secondary School). In most circumstances the students age will determine the year level they are place into.

We have more than 800 schools in communities across our state – in bustling city and regional centres and in some of the most remote parts of the world.

Our schools offer a diverse range of courses designed to inspire students to be lifelong learners. Our students can access flexible study pathways and internationally recognised qualifications.

An education at a Western Australian Government School not only provides students with a world-class education, but also an abundance of opportunities for them to dream, discover and learn about the world and themselves.

English language support

Our schools also provide comprehensive English language programs for students to learn English in mainstream classes as well as specialist programs for students in the early stages of learning the English language. For more information regarding out English language programs, refer to English language support.

We acknowledge and respect the traditional custodians of the lands and waters on which our students live and are educated throughout Western Australia.

We acknowledge and understand that Elders, parents, families and communities are the first educators of their children and we recognise and value the cultures and strengths that Aboriginal children bring to the classroom. Aboriginal people have a long tradition of teaching and learning through sharing their connections with country, community, language and culture, and through their oral histories, stories and lived experiences that are passed from generation to generation. We recognise and value the learning that Aboriginal children bring with them from their homes and communities into the classroom.
